Thematically, there are two great scenes in the Godfather films: the first occurs between Michael and his father, about the dreams of the latter for the former making good legitimately in the American fabric (senator, president, etc), just before the latter dies in the garden; the second (in the sequel) between Michael and his mother, in which he asks her about the possibility of man losing his family (which he eventually does, completely).
The Latest, The Greatest
I've been waiting to declare the latest before I had reasonable chance to speak personally with those I could expect to read this here blog:
Both Amanda and I are headed back to school for Fall 2006. She has been accepted to several NYC/Nassau County Law School programs, and I to Fordham University's Graduate English program (MA en route to a PhD. -- assuming I don't completely suck and fail). A reversal of roles for both of us, having been teaching for three school years.
Where will we be living? Yet to be decided. TBA...
